Amazing and weird random facts

At the very beginning of this post (so that no one can accuse me of plagiarism) a very important note: I got this list of random amazing, weird and useless facts (at least some of them) listed bellow from some old post posted by user "thunderstorm" on Senserely website (basically it was an AdSense "revenue sharing" community of bloggers) on which I've posted quite a few blogs posts from 24.08.2006 to 29.09.2008 (69 posts in total to be precise) and a few so-called "book entries".

The website doesn't exist anymore though oddly Technorati apparently still shows it under my claimed blogs (see here: http://technorati.com/people/tadej). Anyway, here's the list of those interesting random facts:

  • A snail can sleep for 3 years.
  • The youngest pope was 11 years old.
  • 111,111,111 x 111,111,111 = 12,345,678,987,654,321
  • Women blink nearly twice as much as men.
  • A rhinoceros horn is made of compacted hair.
  • It is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.
  • Marilyn Monroe had six toes on one foot.
  • Almonds are members of the peach family.
  • Maine is the only state whose name is just one syllable.
  • China has more people who speak English than the United States.
  • In England, the Speaker of the House is not allowed to speak.
  • Winston Churchill was born in a ladies' room during a dance.
  • The longest one-syllable word in the English language is "screeched".
  • All of the clocks in the movie Pulp Fiction are stuck on 4:20.
  • A polar bear's skin is black. Its fur is not white, but actually clear.
  • If you keep a Goldfish in the dark room, it will eventually turn white.
  • Word "dreamt" is the only English word that ends in the letters "mt".
  • Stewardesses is the longest word typed with only the left hand.
  • No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver or purple.
